Here are several data about our local painter :

Her name is Elena Stoiciu . She was born in Focsani in an Armenian family. She attended the Plastic Arts Faculty in Bucharest and worked with the following professors : Marin Gherasim ,and Stoica Razvan.She graduated in 1968.

She has been working as an Art teacher in "Ion Basgan" School and " Al.I.Cuza " National College in Focsani ever since and she has also contributed with her works and techniques she uses at the enrichment of arts and the national inheritance.

She has also a great contribution in educating generations after generations in this field, guiding them with love and passion .

Elena Stoiciu's paintings ,graphic art works and decorative art works are

acquired in the national collections as well as in particular collections

in the country and abroad.

AWARDS :

1958           The 1st prize and golden medal -the National Exhibition ,Bucharest ;
1959           The 2nd prize and silver madal -The International Exhibition ,Amsterdam , Netherland ;
1971-1974   The Special Prize at The exibition called "Four gaols" ; 1976-1978   A Diploma at The National
