Students from Rome had a nice event at the end of this school year project year

Open doors of Year 4 took place on June 9th.

After welcoming the parents, children have presented the project, the artists and the artworks made during Activity 1.

Children and parents surfed the project’s website looking at all the partners’ artworks and activities with the help of Patrizia. We had a fantastic chat with our friends in Slovenia, Spain and Portugal and children and parents were really impressed about it.

Then a student gave us a short demonstration about the use of Paint.

After that children sang short songs in all partners’ languages except Romania (sorry) as we could not get a Romanian song.

Then parents and children went upstairs for the second part of the event.

First children described the Comenius posters with a special eye on Portugal and Sweden where the two meetings have been held this year.

They discovered many interesting information about “light” in Sweden and how lights can affect people’s lives there and also made a booklet about it.

Then the biggest moment arrived: the discovering of the two artworks used for activity 2 in Year 4.

The two groups of children had worked in fact on two different piece of art but never looked at them until that day. There was a lot of suspense: can you imagine? The teachers Patrizia and Silvana worked very hard the afternoon before in order to settle everything down.

After that, children, who worked very hard on European enlargement and made beautiful posters about it, read their own thoughts about the big European family and stuck them on the wall.

In the end children taught the parents many things: the use of Paint, the Tangram, how to make graffiti, etc.

It was GREAT!

On June 8th teachers and children in year 3 organized a Comenius open doors day with their parents.

First of all children introduced the Project and gave the parents an overview of activities carried out during the year. Then, Patrizia Corasaniti showed the parents a Power Point presentation about the project. Afterwords they surfed the website and showed the parents also the artworks sent by children from partner schools. Parents then visited the exhibition of artworks made for Activity 1 and exhibited in the Aula Magna.

After that parents were invited to go upstairs and visit children classrooms where artworks of Activity 2 were displayed.

In the end, as children enjoy very much the book about Pippi Longstocking that the teachers Marianna and Patrizia brought back from Sweden, they sung the song about Pippi in Italian, English and Spanish.

The parents have appreciated the artworks and the Project very much and we had a lot of fun singing altogether.

On June 10th the Year 2  Open Door day took place. First of all children welcomed parents, grandparents and friends in the Gymnasium where some sport exhibition and games  took place.

Then parents were invited to join the kids and it was real FUN, believe me! The mums were more brave than the dads  and  all the grandmothers were just GREAT!!

Then the kids showed the parents how to reproduce a painting by the use of Paint, in the Computer Lab and all the parents there were “passed the exam” working on Paula Rego’s thanks to the help of their kids.

In the end, the kids explained the families all the job they had done for Activity 1 and 2 illustrating the whole process and showing them their artworks. Very cute children in Year 2!! Bravi!
