PROJECT TITLE

Art through Child's Eyes and a PC Mouse

Short Summary

Seven schools from seven European countries decided to work together in a Comenius 1 project based on cross curricula art through different ways of using ICT in Elementary education. We believe that children can be very creative and learn through doing. They will learn through observing great artists' work and crating their own masterpieces.

Collaborative work at school:          We have organised a special team of teachers involved in the porejct and have regular meeting discussing the activites and outcomes, solving problems and learning by doing. Then they present PC tools for drawing to students and talk to them while observing artworks, at last creating and evaluating the work by teachers and students. Presenting students' acievements in Comenius corners

Objectives

Overall objectives

Our project aims to develop students' attitude towards art, their observation of it, creativity and the use of ICT for creating artworks. We involve different school subjects while doing project activities such as art and crafts, music, history, civics, mother tongue and English language, maths, physics, biology and geography. There is a strong stress on environmental education and new technologies of course.  Project covers a wide range of  thematic areas or topics from cultural heritage, history, music and literature to environment communication,  interculturalism and raising pupil achivements and quality of education.

Specific objectives

They will achieve certain skills through interacting in simple tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar matters, using different techniques for creating art including ICT, exchanging it interactively with peer students abroad.

Short description of how the Project has been carried out

 

The project is organised in three phases with three different activities during one school year. The activitieas are done in each partner school and reported to the coordinator. The best produscts selected by students are published on the web. E-communication within the project community and mailing list helps to carry out the activities in the planned time limits. The exchange of the materials and information among the partners schools is strong and efficiant.

Short description of how technological tools have been used

Technological tools
(videocamera/camera/digital camera/computer/Internet/scanner/printer)
The PC and the computer lab is used for communication between partners via forums and e-mail, for creation of students artworks and for learning to use new tools fro drawing and scanning images. They aslo provided oportrunity to build a project webpage. Scanners, digital camera and printers have been used for the purpose of the project too. PCs have been used for the Internet. The digital camera is used for taking pictures of the pupils working on certain topic or taking pictures of Comenius ciorner for the homepage. The videocamera has been used for recording the discission of students after work.
