Short description of how the Project has been
carried out
|
1)
How the work has been organized either in class and at home:
Following the methodology of Project Work most of it was
team/group work. The project theme was divided in topics.
2) How the work has been shared among children:
The Portuguese class worked on the topics concerning the
Portuguese situation, the German class worked on the topics
concerning the German situation. Information concerning the
project development was shared by E-mail, in order to keep the
project internal cohesion. During the exchange periods each
partner class presented their work. The participating students
were divided in groups and each group was given a different
task within the topic they were working on.
3) How resources have been used/managed:
Human resources: team/cooperative work; collaborative
participation.
Material resources: Managed in a way to make possible the
project accomplishment and allow all the intervenient students
participation, independently of their financial resources. |

Impact on
students |
We can consider the result of all the shared work with Anne
Frank School very positive. It allowed the students:
 |
to improve their communication skills in English; |
 |
to get a better knowledge of the theme treated in the
Project; |
 |
to get some knowledge of both native languages; |
 |
to develop attitudes of tolerance, understanding and respect
for the “other”; |
 |
to know more about both countries, their culture, history and
customs; |
 |
to have a better knowledge of their own cultural identity and
a broader awareness of its European dimension; |
 |
to understand the unifying character of the knowledge they
had acquired; |
 |
to enrich the teacher/students relationship |
|
| Feedback
from parents |
|
|
Impact on teachers |
The contact with colleagues of another European school allowed:
 |
the exchange of enriching pedagogical experiences; |
 |
to diversify strategies in foreign language teaching, namely
exploring potentialities offered by the pedagogy of
exchanges; |
 |
to know more about how to teach multicultural classes; |
 |
to know more about other educational systems; |
 |
to contribute to a wider European dimension of education. |
|
| Other |
Impact at school
 |
The Project, mainly through the exchange programmes was also
very enriching for the school life. |
 |
The dynamism brought by the exchange activities, the presence
of foreign teachers and students at school helped to break
the routine of school life. |
 |
It also helped to project the school image outside its walls. |
