PROJECT TITLE TANDEM PROJECT ITALY-USA

Short Summary

Email correspondence between an Italian (from Bergamo) and an American high school (from New Rochelle), which lasted one year. Italian students wrote emails in English, (their foreign language) American ones in Italian (their foreign language). Text chats completed the project at the end of the year.

Overall objectives

To foster motivation for students to learn and practice their mother and foreign language; they are faced with real communication, writing, revising, editing and finally publishing on the Internet.

Specific objectives

 

To emphasizes spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary in the writing process

Learning how to write email messages; differences in writing letters and email messages;

Social skills

by sharing  knowledge,  customs and traditions students learn how to reconsider stereotypes
