CVU Copenhagen & North Zealand comprises of one joint unit and nine partner institutions.

PD-programmes
The CVU offers new PD-programmes within a wide range of fields such as General Educational Theory, Danish, Danish as a Second Language, Theatre, Foreign Language Studies, Physical Education and Sport, School Start, IT, Media and Communications, Christian Studies/Religious Education, Reading and Writing, Mathematics, Science Subjects, Project Management and Development Work, Psychology, Educational Work, Social Education, Special Education, Health Education, Guidance and Supervision, and Aesthetics, Culture and Handicrafts.

Professional Bachelor Programmes
The partner institutions of the CVU offer the following new Professional Bachelor Programmes in:

  • Teacher Training
  • Educationist Training
  • Nursing Science
  • Physiotherapy

Further Education and Training
CVU Copenhagen and North Zealand offers further education and training at a high academic level and provides a study environment for adults as well as guidance and academic advice on choice of and planning of courses and studies up to the Diploma level.

The CVU offers further education and training for teachers, educators, nurses, physiotherapists, and others with an education at the Bachelor’s level.

In the future the further education and training programmes are to be developed by the nine Educational Research Centres which are currently in a build-up phase. The centres are to embrace:

  • Methodology and evaluation
  • The practice of the professions
  • Comparative Educational and Social Studies
  • Nature, Environment, and Health
  • IT and Media
  • Multicultural Studies
  • Organisation and management of educational institutions
  • Aesthetic and Creative Subjects, and Handicrafts
  • Special Education

Besides the above mentioned Educational Research Centres the CVU has 4 already established centres, they are:

CICED/Copenhagen International Centre for Educational Development
CICED focuses on development, education, and research within the educational sector in third world countries

KLEO
KLEO focuses on collecting knowledge about the processes of development at the level of the employee, the managerial level, the institutional level, and at the municipal level

Dansk Sløjdlærerskole
Dansk Sløjdlærerskole offers further education and training within the creative and educational subjects and within handicrafts and their respective theory and practice.

UC2
UC2 collects, analyses, and communicates accessible knowledge about the teaching and education of bilingual children, young people, and adults.

Research
Research and development is seen in close relation to the development of the Professional Bachelor programmes and the further education and training programmes. The practice of the professions is therefore a key notion within the professional profile, and the overall perspective of the CVU. 

It is the mission of the CVU that the Professional Bachelor programmes and the further education and training programmes shall become an essential part of a development-oriented practice in the institutions of its participants and thus benefit the children, the young people, and adults who use these.
