European Schools
Project
The European Schools Project is the aegis for many
collaborative projects between schools and school support
institutions, like teacher education institutes. ESP
supports teachers and pupils in participating in the world
of Internet-based Computer Mediated Communications and in
using Internet's Information Resources to improve learning
and teaching. ESP is aiming at building a support system
for schools, enabling them to explore the various
possibilities Internet offers for improving the processes
of learning and teaching.
European
schoolnet
European Schoolnet is an international partnership of more
than 20 European Ministries of Education developing
learning for schools, teachers and pupils across Europe.
Being an educational portal for schools in Europe,
eSchoolnet provides resources, news, practice examples and
collaboration opportunities for teachers.
Virtual
School
The Virtual School is part of the European Schoolnet. It
encourages collaboration between schools in Europe and
supports the use of information and communications
technology (ICT) in schools, to make cooperation between
schools in Europe easier. The Virtual School, with more
than 19 subject-related departments, is “for European
teachers by European teachers”, and is a virtual meeting
place for teachers to discuss and exchange material and
experience.
eSchola
eSchola is about learning online from each other, working
together and celebrating success using new technologies in
Europe's classrooms. National, regional and web-based
events occur each year under the eSchola initiative.

strengthen its European dimension and promote language
learning and mobility.
PartBase

European projects. It is an easy-to-use tool, designed

SLAM - School Libraries as MultiMedia Centres
The SLAM (School Libraries as MultiMedia centres) project
is designed to develop the use of school libraries as
multimedia resource centres encouraging and developing
open learning within the partner organisations. In the
initial stages, the project will work to integrate new
technology and the new media into the educational process
at each site. This will require the training of teaching
staff and educational managers to raise awareness and to
promote change. Multimedia and information and
communications technologies permit the introduction of new
modes of open learning and these will be exploited in the
teacher INSET programme.
