ONCE UPON A TIME ...

Description of the project
The project is meant for pupils aged 8 to 11. Pupils will select fairy tales (maximum 3) they were used to listen to when where babies. These tales will be recorded in the mother tongue as well as in English by the participants.

Age group
8-11 (+/-1)

Expected number of schools
3-4 schools from different European countries.

Subjects
Mother tongue/English language, drama, story telling, tale structure.

Activities

• Pupils from each school choose 2 (maximum 3) tales they consider to be the ones they love more.
• Schools send the chosen tales to each others by e-mail in their own mother tongue as well as in english.
• Each school will be responsible for illustrating with drawings the tales they choose.
• Pupils collect all the tales coming from the other participants and compare them with their own tales.
• Webpages with the recorded tales are created.
• Pupils vote in / choose “the best known/the most loved” tale.
• The fairy tale resulting “the best known/the most loved” among the countries taking part in the project, will be inserted in the ECOLE database in English and in the language of the country the tale is coming from.

Expected outcomes / products
Webpages with all the recorded tales in the languages from the countries involved in the project plus English, as well as with the illustrations created

Project language
English plus the participants’ languages.
